The Evolution of Art

Art has evolved a lot over time across the globe. At present, we can see that art has become very common to be done and consumed in digital form. If we look at the history, we can clearly see that art has come a long way.

'Art' is a term defined as the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. There are various branches of art. These branches have evolved with time as well. There are many ancient forms of art that do not exist today. The remainings gives us a insight of those art forms which helps us to acknowledge how much art has evolved.

'Petroglyphs' is a term used for rock carvings made by pecking directly on the rock surface using a stone chisel and a hammerstone during ancient times. It is a form of art that humans once used to express their thoughts. Aside from this, there is cave art that existed in the ancient times. Cave art is a broad term for the earliest known art-making in human history. These are some of the ancient art forms found through remainings.

In this age we can see various forms of art from digital to pottery. People express their thoughts and their lifestyles through these forms of art. Also unlike before, now art is heavily consumed. Games, animated contents, buildings etc. somehow have art involved. In fact, art is involved in almost everything around us. There are so many art forms nowadays that almost everyone can choose at least one and express their creativity through it. It has also become quite easy to grasp some art forms through respective art's classes and through technology.

Over the time many new art forms have been created also many art forms have been forgotten. Art has become easier with time but there are artists who still stick to the old art forms. Even in today's age where everything is becoming more technology based including art, there are a lot of artists who still prefer to do the traditional forms of art. I myself would choose pencil, paper and paint tubes over digital art even though I find doing digital art more convenient. Because doing traditional art brings me more joy. However, when the history of art is observed we can clearly see the forms of art that were not practiced becomes forgotten eventually. So to not forget these beautiful forms of art, people should stick to practicing traditional forms as well in my opinion.

Finally, we can clearly see how art has evolved and definitely is still evolving. Art has a long way to go. It will help people to express creativity in much easier ways in the future. Actually it is even now. However, it is indeed possible that many art forms existing today might not exist in the future due to them being less convenient to do. But this is how it is expected to be. This is how art will keep on evolving like it has been for all these years.
